At El Cerrito’s Relay For Life walkers go around the track as we fight cancer, celebrate cancer survivors and remember lost loved ones. This unique fundraising event brings the community together to raise funds for the American Cancer Society. The overnight relay at Cerrito Vista Park (950 Pomona Ave., El Cerrito) starts with cancer survivors walking the first lap at 10:00 o’clock Saturday morning. Live music, games, crafts, raffles, and other family fun activities are part of the spirited celebration of the event all day long. The highlight of the event, the Luminaria Ceremony where we honor those who have lost their battle to cancer is held at 9:00 in the evening. The event ends at 10:00 Sunday morning after a closing ceremony where the participants pledge never to stop fighting against cancer.
