The morning session will be hands on. Glazing made easy by sampling glazes with two different glazing techniques; Majolica on tiles and layering glazes on wheel thrown pieces and tiles. Through these techniques you will learn the easiest way to achieve the best results.
In the afternoon session, Ian will demonstrate with discussion on how to successfully throw on the pottery wheel while avoiding common mistakes. He will also demonstrate some new, easily successful projects that include centering, lifting and trimming on the wheel.
Ian Chung has been throwing on the wheel for the last 30 years. He has experience in running a production factory of Italian dinnerware for several years. He has since been the manager and technical support for a kiln manufacturer, clay productions and also a pottery supply store. He is currently working for Spectrum Glazes as a Marketing Manager. Ian Chung also continues in his own personal work by creating pottery every day.
