Hesed Community invites individuals of all ages and denominations to listen to Sister Joan Chittister speak on how to live a contemplative life in the modern world.
Sr. Joan Chittister is one of the most influential religious and social leaders of our time. She offers a clear voice that bridges across all religions and has been passionately advocating for human rights, women’s issues, church renewal, and overall peace for 40 years. She is a best-selling author of more than 50 books and has written over 700 articles. She also has an online column for the National Catholic Reporter, as well as a blog for Huffington Post. Sr. Joan has lectured all across the world and has been featured on PBS, NPR, Meet the Press, Oprah, and many other programs.
During this speaking event, which is sponsored by Hesed Community, Sr. Joan Chittister will discuss how to live a fulfilling and meaningful life during the trials of our contemporary times.
Hesed Community is a Christian Meditation organization that was founded in 1981. They offer lectures, workshops, meditation sessions, and more. The volunteer-run Hesed Community is based on Benedictine spirituality and its mission is the teaching and practice of Christian Meditation.
