Richmond Memorial Convention Center

After an intensive retrofit and remodeling of the historic Civic Center Plaza, Richmond’s Memorial Auditorium is again open for business. Constructed in 1949,  Architectural Forum magazine called the then new Memorial Civic Center: "a milestone in U.S. civic design... the first modern Civic Center built in any American city; and it is one of the most comprehensive centers constructed anywhere in the world."

The Auditorium has hosted a wide range of events over the years: meetings, conferences, trade shows, concerts, plays, wresting matches, roller derby, dances, banquets and weddings—and just recently, a local celebration of the Inauguration of President Obama.

The lobby can be booked for events expecting up to 250 people. A dance in the main hall can accommodate up to 3,500 people. Contact our staff for availability and booking.
