Explore Richmond

Richmond is full of fantastic places to explore. From the Bay Trail and dog friendly parks to beaches & watersports, museums, golf, art centers, breweries, cultural performances, wineries, antique shops, ethnic foods, music and restaurants – what are you waiting for? Check out the Calendar of Events and Richmond’s Annual Festivals & Celebrations

Historic Downtown Richmond is a safe and vibrant destination for arts, history and entertainment. The Main Street Initiative is dedicated to revitalizing the historic downtown and building community here with music and family events, nutrition and cooking classes and the Wednesday Freshest Cargo Mobile Farmers’ Market in three locations. More vegetables are growing on what used to be an old empty lot near downtown. A community member transformed a 14,000 sq ft lot into an urban farm called Happy Lot Farm & Garden for the residents of the WWII era Atchison Village, whose WWII homes are on the National Register of Historic Places.

Imagine Downtown Richmond as a Chess Park! In partnership with The West Coast Chess Alliance, Main Street Initiative is bringing Chess to the neighborhood, and especially for the children, with the motto: Academic Excellence through Chess.

The beautiful Richmond waterfront is accessible by foot, bike and boat. With five marinas and yacht clubs along the Bay Trail, you will not lack in water and outdoor activities as well as wineries and breweries with sunsets to explore.

Richmond is a fun place to explore.
