We like to put together fun treks in Richmond. Here are some of our favorites. Mix and match, as you like. Have fun!

Treks to do in Richmond

PICNIC TREK – Pick up lunch at Little Louie’s Café & Catering and head out to Miller Knox Park, situated on San Francisco Bay, for a hike up West Ridge for views over the Bay and down to Ferry Point where Santa Fe Railroad had its first western terminus in the early 20th Dogs welcome on leash. Enjoy your picnic. Check out Keller Beach & the Golden State Model Railroad Museum.

WATER TREK – Sign up for a morning Stand Up Paddle class with 510 Waterline and then have lunch at Assemble Restaurant on the patio close by overlooking the SF Bay. Visit Rosie the Riveter Museum and walk around for a while along the Marina Bay Yacht Harbor on the Bay Trail. Hit Happy Hour at Salute e Vita Ristorante or Anh’s Vietnamese Kitchen on the water.

DOG DAY PONG TREK– Park at the Brickyard Cove Marina and have lunch at All’s Fare Café overlooking the marina. Walk the Bay Trail, along Brickyard Cove Road & then stop for a classic beer at East Brother Beer Co. and play a few games of Ping-Pong while sipping. Walk up Canal a bit to visit The Watershed Nursery and learn about native plants you will see along the trail on your way back.

HISTORY TREK – Visit Richmond History Museum and then head Downtown Richmond for lunch at one of the great Latin owned Restaurants on 23rd St., Portumex. You can visit El Arte de Mexico a block away from Portumex for a splash of beautiful gifts created by artisans from all over Mexico’s cities, towns and villages. Go to the Richmond Museum of History, then down to the water on Canal Blvd and visit the SS Red Oak Victory, ending your day at Rigger’s Loft Wine Co. for Happy Hour & a bite to eat as you watch the sun set on San Francisco Bay.

DOG & BREW TREK -Take your dog to Isabel Dog Park. Eat at the casual Sit & Stay Café or bring your own picnic from Pt. Richmond Market & Deli. Dogs off leash okay! Take your dog swimming in the SF Bay and walk the trails. Panoramic vistas of SF Bay. Stop by Armistice Brewing Co. with your dog on your way back for a beer on the dog-friendly patio.

ANTIQUES & ART TREK – Browse through Butch’s Antiques & Collectibles and Mom & Pop Art Shop and land at Happy Hour at Four2 Nine Wine Bar on Thursdays or Fridays and taste some International wines and enjoy a bite to eat. Stop across the street at Hotel Mac Bar for music in the lounge and consider a late evening dinner in the Hotel Mac Restaurant.

LEISURE ART & BEER TREK – Have a leisurely Saturday morning breakfast or lunch at Kaleidoscope Coffee and then head over to browse Richmond Art Center and/or NIAD Art Center, with a respite and beer at Benoit Casper Brewing Co. You can also head down to Armistice Brewing Co. for beer & food trucks and then continue onto Marina Bay Yacht Harbor & Trail for an early evening walk.

NATIVE PLANT TREK – You may want to start at The Watershed Nursery to learn about some of the plants you may see when you are out hiking. Have a healthy Quinoa Kale Salad at Brezo in Pt. Richmond or enjoy pub fare at Up & Under Bar & Grill and then head out to Point Pinole Regional Shoreline. Take photos of the wildflowers and interesting plants as you walk the Bay Trail.
