Joe Kelner Trio

The Joe Kelner trio explores the generous sounds of bebop, cool jazz, and the modal jazz of the 60s. Jazz is about freedom and challenging one’s self to express themselves through an instrument. With an ear open to complementary and contrasting rhythmic and harmonic ideas the group dives into the music of Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Billy Strayhorn, Thelonious Monk, Sonny Rollins, Benny Golson, and many more with a fresh modern perspective of the music while still honoring the tradition of where it came from.
